Ordinary

Research proposal is easy to do but hard to justify. Troublesome and time consuming! I have a love-hate relationship with academic world. They are interesting, they are boring. Like I said before, what's in our head is only 25% true in real situation. For example we thought Coke is bad for our health because it contains zero calorie, FYI Coke in our country is full of sugar thus making it high calorie beverage. We're not yet use Saccharin (artificial sweetener) commercially here in Malaysia. Wait, I think I hate this topic.

Today I went to my college mini gym, more than 12 calories burnt. Hey this is my first time, will spend more time in there. I want to get rid of the fats on my thigh, I want to get rid of my pimples, I want to get rid of my glasses, I want to get rid of my dull head scarfs. Temporal desire I think.

Watched What A Girl Wants today. Pretty ordinary, maybe they are pioneer in suddenly-become-royal plot, so I wasn't much excited to see her going through make over.

Must Change!

Surrounded by apathetic attitude people have is suffocating especially when I'm struggling to do constant self-improvement for future betterment. I am the leader of tomorrow, or I should at least think of that way. I admit being apathy towards many things, not intending to say that I filtered too much but I honestly don't know who are the Prime Ministers of Singapore beside Lee Kuan Yew. The only reason I knew Lee Hsien Loong is the current Prime Minister and is Lee Kuan Yew's eldest son was through Discovery Channel, by accident! Not to mention Goh Chok Tong, who is that guy? You all must be wondering too *addressing our "Generasi Hebat"*.

Facing people apathy daily is tempting enough to turn me into one, unavoidable in my case easily influenced by senior collegue or worst close friends. It's a norm not to be a registered voter, it's a norm not knowing anything about Malaysia's 2010 Budget and it's a norm to not care about 1% (some cases 3%) administration free PTPTN is charging us, the borrowers monthly. This is a local example, I doubt many people of my age know how nations replaced empires and come to who we are today. For those who knew a lot of things inside out, I hope to become one of you.

For this coming new year, fresh start for all of us, I wish to become a person with high competency and integrity.

Cinema

Watched these in GSC Mid Valley;

1) Storm Warriors
2) Ninja Assassins
3) Twilight New Moon

Taking pictures

Amateurish way to photograph a piece of jewellery. In case you don't know, that's me.

I'm in love with my dad's D300. Captures even the tiniest detail like finger prints. By the way, the laptop above is my old one, stopped responding to me a month ago.

New Laptop

1st time logging in using a brand new laptop my dad bought for me just yesterday! In fact few hours ago! Thank you so much Papi. How can I ever repay you! Muax

More Movies

Yup, movie week this week. Watched Surrogates (2009) and Corpse Bride (2005).

What's a surrogate? Never heard of the term before. It's substitute or replacement I googled. So this movie is about robotic surrogates human been using for convenience, safety and physically perfect body they desire. Picture this, you pick a better looking robot, sit at home and control it to replace yourself, to live your life. So you're safe at home, less discrimination in the society and able to work even if you're old/disabled. Problem arises when two persons murdered when their surrogates being attacked while in use. How can this possibly happen?

I like this movie, the idea and the good looking society. The plot wasn't that interesting or it's just me. And yeah I'm bad at writing synopsis and review.

This one has long been in the computer. Finally watched it with my sister. Quick summary, a guy Victor was about to marry Victoria but accidentally proposed to Emily, the corpse bride after he went into the wood to rehearse his wedding vows. I love this movie, it's simple, nice scripted, amusing and oh I can feel the love. I adore Emily's personality and kind heart.

p/s: Postman where are you? You're delaying my beading project!

Random

8:07 AM and I'm fully awake God knows why. I haven't sleep yet.

Oh another movie, Drag Me to Hell yesterday fun movie but not my favourite. My brother insisted me to watch it so I gladly sat to see what it was about. A young woman was cursed and did all she could to save herself in midst of scary shadows and the old woman who cursed her. Some fresh ideas but mostly predictable.

My mom went to Kuala Lumpur for a meeting, she's coming back on Monday for a meeting in Kota Kinabalu. Need to fetch and send her to a hotel here. I suddenly missed her.

This entry is random. Nothing particular in mind. Often thought of writing something scholarly sound, informative packed with jargon words but never did. Maybe sometime later. Not yet matured at 22.

Movie Marathon

I did a movie marathon: Cidade de Deus ak.a. City of God (2002), Untraceable (2008) and Watchmen (2009) and now is 7:48 AM.

Benny in City of God
He's not the leading actor but I love him to bits. The movie is very interesting from the start till the end. One of my list of recommendation. Good movie really. It's based on a true story happened around 1960's in the slums of Rio De Janeiro.

This one is from Untraceable. Apart from cool things FBI did in this movie, I find it pretty ordinary but it didn't get boring like in the third movie I watched though. It's about a website untraceable even to the FBI 's cybercrime division. The feature of the website is live streaming killing on the internet. The higher the viewer, the faster the killing goes.

Well, Watchmen duration is nearly 3 hours! No wonder I became tired and bored that I don't care if they all died. My dad came sit watching with me and there it was, sex scene one after another. Why do movies have to have scenes like that, a brief one is okay but...well my dad got up and commented what kind of movie is this. He might as well pointing out cartoon-like superheroes dressed up ridiculously. Amazingly I waited and my dad too sat back then BOOM the great ending. All the pieces (which I thought were all stupid) came together, worth my 3 hours watching it.

Now, my bucket list no.5 is growing slowly but surely. By the way, I watched The Convenant (2006) on the AXN. Caleb is gorgeous I must say.

p/s:

Caviar

I love fish roes (eggs). Popping saltiness inside the mouth to me is delicious (when eating sushi). But I love them fried too. Regardless of size, type of fish blah3 they all taste so good.

I suddenly went curious over Caviar, known it to be super expensive and yummy delicacy but never really thought about why it worth gold. So I read a little.

The most pricey and the best one comes from a fish species called beluga sturgeon (Sturgeon is black caviar the other one is red caviar from Salmon). They are found in Caspian Sea, between Russia and Iran. The older the fish, the more expensive it becomes for its rarity. So now we know why it's a luxury food.

Image from http://www.buybelugacaviar.co.uk. It says there "The most expensive and rare caviar in the world is Iranian almas caviar that is produced by the albino beluga sturgeon at an age only of 60-100 years old."

Price for Iranian Beluga Caviar (not the albino, the normal one):
50g tin £585.00 or around RM3271 *jaw drops*

Now there's cheap version of caviar in tubes and small jars. They even made it into cosmetic products. I prefer to eat them just so you know. People said caviar is one food you shouldn't miss before you die. I'll think about it.

p/s: I love chewy food like Nata de Coco and Sticky Corn (Heh I mean Jagung Pulut)

Post Panic Attack

Nope, it's not H1N1 thank God.

Settled few things so now is post panic attack.

  1. Called Bajet Mini to reconfirm that I get the sponsor(since I was paranoid my acceptance letter missing), yes it's totally confirmed
  2. Called Bendahari to confirm total payment upon registration, it's RM27 for medical fee
  3. Called 11th College to reconfirm my stay, confirmed but likely to get unwanted room
  4. Finally ordered new batch of Swarovski and stuff, paid RM130 (this time I didn't owe anybody)
So tomorrow need to go Pejabat Pendaftaran, my new I/C is ready. Paid RM10 to replace it because whatever chip inside the old one didn't function.

Post panic attack needs to sleep, now.

p/s: weird sensation to be back behind the wheel though it's only been a week

Pinawantai

Went to Pinawantai, Matunggong Kudat and just got back yesterday. Stayed overnight at my dad's house he rented because he is a teacher there (for a few months now). The place is nice but I've decided I cannot live in a village without TV.

Never occurred to me that today is the remaining 14 days before I depart to Kuala Lumpur.

OH MY GOD. I haven't done anything yet.

My dad is sick, I am too. We fear it is H1n1...without obvious symptoms?
